Schrift spricht
In 2019, I graduated with distinction from my Masters degree in Communication Design at Peter Behrens School of Art, Düsseldorf. „Schrift spricht - Schriftcharakteristik und Corporate Typefaces deutscher Unternehmen“ is the name of my thesis I completed within my studies. It deals with one massively important component of corporate design: Corporate Typefaces.
Typefaces do not solely pass on information, fonts also convey a specific character. This character should represent the enterprises’ philosophy and values, so that companies can use “their” voice to convey their unique message. That’s why more and more Corporate Typefaces are designed around the world.
My book focused on an analysis of nearly 30 fonts that were specifically developed for German companies. In addition, the book also contains theoretical knowledge about corporate typefaces, font characteristics and their psychological impact.
